In celebration of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, it has been announced that a Super Bowl LX commercial will air, and exclusive 30th-anniversary merch is coming.
The Pokémon Company International announced today that the entertainment franchise will commemorate 30 years with a year-long campaign, debuting with a new Super Bowl LX commercial. To get audiences ready for the big Super Bowl spot, a video has been spotted on the franchise’s YouTube channel, featuring the-often-microphone-equipped Jigglypuff getting ready for the big debut. The trailer can be seen below.
The ad will air sometime on February 8, during Super Bowl LX. Like every other year, the NFL doesn’t let audiences know when each commercial will air. Companies only confirm that they will participate before the opening kick-off, and that is exactly what’s happening here. The Super Bowl LX spot will illustrate the brand’s goal of bringing people together through a shared love of the franchise. The last big Super Bowl spot from the Game FREAK franchise aired 10 years ago during Super Bowl L (the 50th), when the Denver Broncos, led by Peyton Manning, beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10.

President at The Pokémon Company International, Kenji Okubo, says, “As we look to the next 30 years and beyond, we invite Trainers to join in celebrating this landmark milestone, starting with Super Bowl LX, where they’ll see themselves and their fandom reflected in unexpected ways,” kicking off the 30th anniversary.
Trainers can take a walk down memory lane with the Pokémon TCG: First Partner Illustration Collection—Series. This collection spotlights trainers’ first partner creature from the Kanto, Sinnoh, or Alola region. The First Partner Illustration Collection—Series 1 will release on March 20, 2026. Also, in-person Pokémon Center locations and the website will feature 30th anniversary-inspired merchandise, starting today with the official website. They’re currently selling T-shirts with a silhouette of Pikachu’s head featuring the number 30. It’s worth mentioning LEGO sets featuring fan favourites will launch on February 27, Pokémon Day.
The ad will air sometime during Super Bowl LX, so fans can stay tuned on February 8 until the wild spot appears.
