Grand Theft Auto 6 on Track for November 19th, As Marketing Begins This Summer

Take-Two Interactive’s third-quarter fiscal year 2026 results are out, and CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for release on November 19th. In a statement to IGN, he also revealed that launch marketing would begin this Summer.

“Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary, and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto 6 with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer.”

With industry figures like Geoff Keighley, who hosts the Summer Games Showcase, retweeting that last part, the door is certainly open for a new trailer in June. It wouldn’t be surprising if various publications also got a chance to preview the long-awaited open-world title.

The release date is a different matter, though, and given past delays, another would hardly be the most surprising twist (maybe the most painful but still). When IGN asked how Zelnick felt about the current date, he replied, “I feel good about it. Very good about it.”

Had something changed this time compared to the others, especially since this isn’t the first time he’s been confident in a launch? “Of course. Because any time you’re getting closer to marketing beats, you’re obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be.”

Things could always change – such is the volatile nature of development – but for now, everything appears to be on track. Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 when it launches on November 19th. If rumors are true, though, it may only be available digitally with the physical version reportedly arriving three to four weeks after launch (if not in early 2027). Head here for more details.
