In their annual Year in Review 2025, Epic Games announced a new initiative for the Epic Games Store. When players buy from their store, they will receive Fortnite freebies in return.
There are a large number of storefronts to buy games from if you’re a PC player, and Epic Games Store is trying to make gamer choices simpler. In its 2025 Year in Review, the company that built Fortnite announced that it is leveraging its biggest franchise to attract gaming customers to its store. Introducing Fortnite freebies (with purchase). Similar to how the Psycho Bundle Pack was included with the purchase of Borderlands 3 in 2020 (the skin has since hit the item shop in 2025), applicable storefront purchases will include exclusive skins, items, and more when players purchase on the Epic Games Store.

While Epic Games is updating the store (and updating the Epic Store Launcher) to make it easier to access available content, the Epic Games Store is also creating community spaces and enhancing cross-platform text chat with features such as avatars, player profiles, and private messaging. These social capabilities will be extended to Epic Online Services, enabling other developers to include text chat in their games later this year.
Epic Games has announced it’s launching an official program to help developers sell more games on the Epic Games Store by leveraging the marketing power of Fortnite. Players who purchase participating games will receive a Fortnite cosmetic along with a matching character avatar for their Epic account profile. This integration will be available in the first half of the year. Upcoming partners include Capcom, miHoYo, Pearl Abyss, S-Game, MintRocket, and Kakao Games, as the first to participate.

One of the games that will come with Fortnite pre-order bonuses this year is Resident Evil Requiem, which is offering a Grace Ashcroft bundle that includes a skin if you order via the Epic Games Store. If fans cop Crimson Desert from Pearl Abyss, a Fortnite bundle that includes a character skin will be gifted at no extra charge.Â
The new Epic Games Store Launcher will be released in May or June, and Fortnite tie-in content will be available as early as Resident Evil Requiem‘s launch on February 27.
