One of 2Kโ€™s biggest franchises is officially saying goodbye to the last generation of consoles and skipping out on a PlayStation 4 release.

What 2K game franchise is skipping the PS4?

The upcoming new entry in the WWE 2K franchise, WWE 2K26, is set to release on March 13, 2026. When it does, it will be skipping out on the last generation of consoles entirely.

For the first time since theyโ€™ve started releasing on the PlayStation 4, the newest WWE 2K game will not be on either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, meaning it will only release on current-gen consoles and on PC.

The next entry in the WWE 2K franchise is the 26th overall installment in the long-running series and the follow-up to 2025โ€™s WWE 2K25. Superstar CM Punk graces the cover of the game, which will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

New to WWE 2K26 are a handful of classic wrestling matches for fans to take part in, including a Dumpster match, โ€œI Quitโ€ match, Inferno match, and the 3 Stages of Hell match. The 2K Showcase mode is back yet again and will feature the career of CM Punk, who recently returned to the world of WWE following almost a full decade away.
