One of the most highly-anticipated PlayStation 5 games likely won’t stay as an exclusive to the console for long, according to a new report.
What PS5 action game won’t be exclusive for long?
According to a new trailer for the upcoming game, Team Ninja’s upcoming sequel game Nioh 3 is a PlayStation 5 exclusive title upon its launch. However, according to the trailer, the game’s exclusivity window isn’t for very long. At the very end of the trailer, when showcasing the title’s PlayStation 5 exclusivity, some fine-print notes that the game is “not available on other consoles until at least 6 months after February 6, 2026.”
While there was no specific mention of other consoles in the trailer, this should give some fans on other platforms some excitement. Nioh 3 is also available on PC, but as of now, no mention of an Xbox release was made. However, with the trailer specifically listing other console possibilities occurring six months after the game’s release, it means that there might be an Xbox version on the horizon.
Nioh 3 is an upcoming action role-playing game that serves as the third installment in Team Ninja’s Nioh series. The game takes place following the events of the previous two, and sees players control Tokugawa Takechiyo, the grandchild of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Much like the previous two games, Nioh 3 will see players battling against yokai and other supernatural beings.
The first two Nioh games were big hits for Team Ninja. The latest game, Nioh 2, released in 2020 and serves as a prequel to the original game. As of last year, the Nioh series as a whole has sold over 8 million units worldwide.
