After being announced at The Game Awards last December, there’s some real hype going on for Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The racing game is set to launch on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC this year.
The first trailer showed us that the successor to Star Wars Episode I: Racer and Star Wars: Racer Revenge will feature fast-paced gameplay. However, fans of the franchise noticed the absence of the famous old-school podracers. This is despite the brief appearance of Sebulba, Anakin’s opponent in The Phantom Menace, at the end of the video.
Fortunately, in an interview with GamesRadar, Matt Webster, CEO of Fuse Games, confirmed that podracers will indeed be available in Star Wars: Galactic Racer, as well as several other types of vehicles.
“You canβt really make a Star Wars racing experience and not have Podracing, can you? The core fantasy of the game is becoming an elite racing pilot in the Galactic League, and Podracing is a pinnacle of speed and racing in the Star Wars galaxy.”
