Stardew Valley’s New Free Map Expansion Feels Like a Whole New Game

We all know at least one person in our lives who has racked up quite a considerable amount of hours in Stardew Valley and, as a result, may finally be starting to run out of content.

Well, luckily for them, there is a way to rediscover Stardew Valley once again thanks to this free maps expansion which promises many unique new features.

At the start of Stardew Valley, players are invited to choose between one of eight maps to make their home with each offering a unique layout, benefits, and features.

However, with the game first releasing almost a decade ago, it is safe to assume that the majority of us have checked out all the original maps have to offer.

Now there is a way to experience Stardew Valley on a brand new map, one which offers “a large forested farm with many unique features”.

Created by pluviophist on Nexus Mods, Lanternwood Grove is a brand-new, and free to download mod, for Stardew Valley.

Originally starting off as a reimagining of a previous map made by the same creator, Lanternwood Grove comes with many unique features.

This includes: large crop fields with markings for sprinklers and scarecrows, animal pens with invisible boundaries, various lampposts, lanterns, fireflies, and various other lighting, renewable hardwood stumps, a quarry that generates stone and ore daily and shortcuts which provide fast travel around the farm.

Lanternwood Grove also provides four different hot spring entrances, a beach cove area, a player plaza which acts as a community hub and four vast areas which encourages four player co-op.

A map of Lanternwood Grove can be found on the official mod page and it is clear to see that this brand-new environment takes everything we know and love from Stardew Valley and gives it a new lease of life with features that are a must-have.

Nothing But Praise For This Free Download

That is definitely what fans seem to think as this brand-new mod has already racked up over 1,000 unique downloads in just over 24-hours.

“Oh my, this is absolutely stunning,” one positive review reads.

Another agreed, adding, “Wow, what an amazing farm. Thanks!!

“I just started with a very small farm because I get overwhelmed by planning very quickly, and then I discovered your farm.

That was the end of all my good intentions. I had to switch to this farm. The idea with the tree areas is fantastic.”

“The decorations and animal enclosures are so helpful for someone like me.”

Much like the creator’s previous maps, this one is already a hit and is perfect for those feeling like vanilla Stardew is just feeling a bit stale.

Better yet? It is completely free to download for those who own Stardew Valley on PC.
