Developer Respawn Entertainment has announced that it is shutting down the servers for the battle royale game Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch. However, the game will remain playable on Switch 2.
The upcoming Apex Legends Season 29 will be the final update for the game on Switch. Beginning with Season 30 on August 4, 2026, Apex Legends will no longer be playable on the OG Switch.
Until then, people can play normally. Any leftover allotment of in-game currency can be migrated to the Switch 2 version if people opt to keep playing on the new system. Additionally, all gameplay progress is tied to an EA account, so that will migrate to other platforms as well.
