Beyond the actual quality of the game itself, Highguard has been heavily criticized for its technical issues. Wildlight Entertainment’s PvP shooter suffered from plenty of crashes upon release.
In a recent message, the developers claimed to have reduced these crashes by around 90% thanks to the new update. In addition to improved stability, the patch brings improvements such as the ability to configure the Crouch key and set the aim down. The field of view can also be set to 110 on consoles.
In terms of the game’s visuals, a Render Distance Quality setting has been added, and low-quality shadows also disable volumetric fog. On PC, DLSS users can select a preset, and global illumination can also be completely disabled.
Finally, an engine bug limiting the frame rate to 60 FPS has been fixed.
