The Assassin’s Creed Invictus devs are reportedly not convinced by this multiplayer title

Among the Assassin’s Creed titles currently in development, there is one project that seems to be far from unanimously supported within Ubisoft itself. This is Invictus, a multiplayer game with challenges with a concept not unlike Fall Guys.

In a new message posted on X, j0nathan reported the statements of a person who is apparently part of the production team. According to this person, the employees do not believe in the success of the title at all. Some are even “disgusted” to be working on such a game. The developer in question had some very harsh words for this Assassin’s Creed game.

“I don’t know any colleagues who like Invictus. Only the managers will probably continue to smile and praise the merits of this project.

It’s awful: ridiculous animations, hideous, caricatured characters (their faces are just as awful), silly sound and visual effects, combat arenas… the concept is simply appalling. I wonder who this game is aimed at and why it was created. Maybe it’s only meant for children… aged six? I have no idea. If that’s the case, I feel sorry for the parents of these children, who will be harassed for money to fuel a new wave of microtransactions.”

Assassin’s Creed Invictus is said to have an aesthetic similar to Fortnite, somewhere between realism and cel shading.

It’s interesting to hear about the development of Assassin’s Creed Invictus and the team’s cautious stance on the multiplayer aspect. The franchise has such a rich history, and it will be intriguing to see how they approach this new direction. Looking forward to learning more about it!
