After concluding in the Spring of 2023, Ted Lasso has experienced a long off-season, but new images have shown his return to the pitch with a Summer 2026 release window for season four.
Jason Sudeikis and the rest of the Ted Lasso cast are returning to the pitch in Summer 2026 for season four. After an offseason that was nearly three years long, Apple TV has shared the good news that Lasso’s return to AFC Richmond is imminent and is currently in production.
Sudeikis stars (and executive produces) alongside Brendan Hunt, Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Emmy winner Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift. Newcomers to the series include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely (who took over the role of Lasso’s son from Gus Turner).

In season four, Ted returns to Richmond and is tasked with taking on the massive challenge of coaching a second-division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season (like all other seasons), Ted Lasso and the team will “learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would,” according to the synopsis released by Apple TV (a classic Lasso motivational statement).
Following its debut on Apple TV, Ted Lasso was a record-breaking success, with the first season becoming the most Emmy-nominated comedy series ever. The series won back-to-back Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy Awards with its second season, and in the Summer, it’s back for its fourth installment.
Ted Lasso is on pace to launch this Summer 2026, and alongside the new photos, Ted will have his work cut out for him when he returns to the pitch for AFC Richmond and the new mystery women’s football team he will lead. Plot details, such as where the team is from and their significance to Lasso, remain under wraps until the season begins.
