Game developer Polyphony Digital and consumer electronics company Xiaomi have announced today that their flagship car, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, will officially debut in Gran Turismo 7, along with two other additions.
As part of Update 1.67, the car will officially be added on January 29th to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Two other vehicles have also been added in this update, including the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) and the Hyundai Elantra N TC. The collaboration between these two giants of their own fields began back in June of 2025, when the partnership was officially announced on the seventh. This new addition to Gran Turismo 7’s carefully curated vehicle collection has drawn the attention of players and automotive enthusiasts worldwide.

The Gran Turismo series has always been a landmark game, which was originally released back in 1997 to critical acclaim for its hyper-realistic gameplay. Gran Turismo quickly caught on as one of the best racing games at the time, with the series eventually achieving 100 million units sold worldwide. This success eventually inspired the creation of GT Academy, which was the basis for the 2023 movie Gran Turismo. Its newest title, Gran Turismo 7, is its most detailed entry yet, with the returning features of Championships, Special Events, Driving School, Used Cars dealership, Tuning PartsShop, and GT Auto. All of this success has made the Gran Turismo PlayStation’s best-selling franchise ever.
Getting back to the car, its specs are something not to be scoffed at. An in-house Dual V8s + V6s Xiaomi Hyper Tri-Motor system powers the car, which allows it to output 1,548 horsepower and 1,770 N·m of torque. With the engine along with an 800V high-voltage platform, the SU7 Ultra can achieve 0-100 in 1.98 seconds (without one-foot rollout). It also offers a CLTC range (A Chinese test for EV cars) of 630 km and supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in only 11 minutes. Both teams from Polyphony Digital and Xiaomi worked together closely to bring this car to the digital world. Even Gran Turismo producer Kazunori Yamauchi personally test-drove the car at multiple racetracks, including the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Tsukuba Circuit. The care put into this collaboration is evident in every step of the almost year-long process. Xiaomi EV’s performance team even specifically travelled to Polyphony Digital’s studio in Fukuoka to participate in the final driving experience validation. When first tested on the Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack on April 1, 2025, the vehicle actually broke the track’s EV record with a lap time of 7:04.957.

To promote the vehicles’ in-game release, Polyphony Digital is hosting an official two-week-long lap-time challenge for players to compete in. The challenge will be held on the historic Monza circuit in Gran Turismo 7, where players are invited to compete using the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. You can race using the EV powerhouse right now. Just make sure to have some fun doing it.Â
