An Ubisoft employee has been suspended without pay for criticizing the company

Things are looking bad at Ubisoft! The French company is in turmoil following the latest developments related to its restructuring. The company’s employees are going so far as to openly criticize their managers on internal channels.

However, some employees are not hesitating to express their dissatisfaction on social media. This was the case for David Michaud-Cromp, who heads the level design team at Ubisoft Montreal. On LinkedIn, he criticized the announcement regarding the end of remote working.

“So… Ubisoft wants to reinstate the mandatory five days in the office… because they ‘believe in collaboration’… but come on, we’re not completely stupid… we know very well why you want to go back to five days in the office…”

In another post, Michaud-Cromp said he had received a three-day unpaid disciplinary suspension starting on January 28, 2026.

“The measure was presented to me as being related to public comments I expressed regarding the company’s return-to-office policy, and based on an alleged breach of the duty of loyalty.

I am sharing this information for transparency purposes. I take note of the decision and will make no further comment at this time.”
