After being announced in July 2020 and getting shown again in June 2024 at the Xbox Games Showcase, State of Decay 3 still has no release date. However, it has escaped the layoffs and other cancellations made by Microsoft in recent years.
Fortunately, the American manufacturer still seems confident about the game’s release. During his interview with GamesRadar, Craig Duncan, head of Xbox Game Studios, confirmed that development is progressing well. However, he refrained from giving a release date five and a half years after the title was first announced.
“So, here’s what I’ll say: I have done a number of visits to that studio in the last six to eight months. I have sat and played the game with the team a bunch of times. It’s coming on really well.”
