It’s been a while since Nintendo’s Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer, so they’ve announced a Nintendo Direct just for the film, and it’s happening this weekend.
A prophecy has hit the internet through the Nintendo Today app. A surprise Nintendo Direct is coming, and it’s happening over the weekend. The Nintendo Direct will revolve around the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and since the latest information reveal in November 2025, fans have been left in the dark. Fans know Rosalina is definitely making an appearance (voiced by Brie Larson), and a flying knee from Luigi to Bowser Jr. is inevitable due to what’s seen in the latest trailer, and in case you missed it, it can be seen below.
This will be the second straight Nintendo Direct to feature the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with the first having revealed the trailer that gave us a first look at Bowser Jr. The first information reveal back in November opened with the first full trailer for the film (seen above). The movie was revealed to begin with Bowser still trapped by the Mario bros, in bite-sized form with an equally bite-sized castle, as seen at the end of the previous Super Mario Bros. Movie. However, Bowser Jr. is revealed with his signature paintbrush from Super Mario Sunshine, and he’s keen to jailbreak Bowser.
The last reveal gave fans the casting of Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. and Brie Larson as Rosalina. These new cast additions are joined by the returning cast from the first movie: Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. Aside from everything outlined so far, a Nintendo Direct is happening this weekend.
To watch the Nintendo Direct, fans need to head over to the official Nintendo YouTube channel on Sunday, January 25, at 9:00 a.m. EST to get their second look behind the curtain at the Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
