The Amazon MMORPG New World: Aeternum was recently pulled from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog as it was delisted from the PlayStation Store. Now subscribers of Sony’s online gaming service are unhappy as they are unable to play the game with their subscription and can no longer buy the game to continue their playthrough.
PS Plus users not thrilled with the removal of New World: Aeternum
In a recent post from the PlayStation Plus subreddit regarding this month’s removals from the PS Plus Game Catalog, a few players have voiced their displeasure with New World: Aeternum’s removal from PS Plus Extra and Premium perk. Now that it is no longer available in the Game Catalog and cannot be purchased after its recent delisting, players who have not previously purchased the game can no longer play the MMORPG.
“New World leaving is kind of a dick move. They could’ve let it be there until the servers went down next year,” says Reddit user KittenDecomposer96.
Earlier this month, Amazon Game Studios announced that New World: Aeternum would be delisted from the PS Store. Servers will shut down on January 31, 2027, giving players who purchased the game a year to play the MMORPG. Although the game is no longer purchasable, players can still purchase in-game currency until July 20. Anyone who has recently bought the game was advised to check their platform’s customer support.
Here is the statement Amazon Game Studios gave regarding the delisting:
“We want to thank the players for your dedication and passion. We are grateful for the time spent crafting the world of Aeternum with you. Together we built something special. While we are saddened to say goodbye, we’re honored that we were able to share so much with the community.
“It has been our pleasure to work on New World: Aeternum and evolve this unforgettable adventure with you all. We look forward to one more year together, and giving this fantastic adventure a sendoff worthy of a legendary hero. From the bottom of all our hearts, thank you for sharing this world with us.”
