It seems like a long time ago that BioWare was one of the industry’s most prominent studios. Electronic Arts has since carried out drastic staff cuts due to the successive failures of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Anthem, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
In an interview with Destin Legarie, former BioWare executive producer Mark Darrah discussed the company’s current status. He confirmed that the team is now working on only one game. That game is, of course, the next Mass Effect.
“BioWare has effectively become a single-project studio, which creates new problems. These are different concerns than those BioWare faced until 2022, when multiple projects were competing for attention and resources.
From what I understand, they are working 100% on Mass Effect. That’s probably for the best.”
