PS Plus free game and DLC

With PS Plus Extra January 2026 games rolling out, players are reminded that they can claim a pair of free DLC and add-on for two of the games from the PS Store. The games are available in most regions now, with the rest to follow at noon local time.

One of the new games is Darkest Dungeon II, a little gem of an RPG that released in 2021. Available on both PS5 and PS4, the game’s Hero Origin Pack can be claimed from the PS Store right now, even if the catalog has yet to refresh in your region.

The Hero Origin Pack contains the “Origin hero skin” for each hero in Darkest Dungeon II, including DLC characters. However, DLC characters aren’t free, so unless you purchase those, the only skins that’ll be of use to you are the ones for the main characters.

Once the pack is downloaded, players need to complete each hero’s Shrines in Darkest Dungeon II to unlock their origin skin in the Cosmetics tab.

The second PS Plus January game with a free add-on on the PS Store is none other than Resident Evil Village, and this one will require access to a PSVR2 headset.

If you own PSVR2, the Resident Evil Village VR Mode will be a free add-on for you, provided you first download the full game included in the catalog, as the VR mode requires access to the base game.
