It has become quite difficult to play the PS3’s catalog on modern machines unless you own the console. Indeed, on PS5, Sony only offers a selection of titles via the cloud accessible to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. There is no native backward compatibility at this time.
Fortunately, there are projects like RPCS3 that are changing the game. This open-source PlayStation 3 emulator for PC runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and FreeBSD. In their latest update, the creators of RPCS3 revealed that 2,513 of the 3,562 PS3 titles listed (70%) are fully playable.
For now, the remaining 30% still suffer from major bugs or cannot be launched at all.

It’s impressive to see how far the RPCS3 emulator has come! Being able to run 70% of PS3 games is a significant achievement and makes gaming more accessible for many. Exciting times for retro gaming enthusiasts!
big achievement for the community. It’s interesting to note that the ongoing development not only improves compatibility but also enhances performance and graphics for many titles, making them feel more like modern games.
