Released in March 2009, Resident Evil 5 will celebrate its 17th anniversary this year. The game was criticized at the time, but ultimately sold around 15.5 million units across all platforms. This makes it the third best-selling game in the series.
This week, Eva La Dare, who plays Sheva Alomar in Resident Evil 5, teased an announcement for March as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. That was all it took for internet users to get excited about a possible remake of the game. Unfortunately, this will probably not be the case.
On X, insider Dusk Golem stated that such a project is not currently in development at Capcom. The remakes in production are more likely to be Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil 0 .
The most likely scenario is the creation of a new CGI feature film in which Sheva would make an appearance. After all, the director of the previous film, Resident Evil: Death Island, had publicly expressed his desire to bring Sheva and Barry Burton together in a future project.
