The most anticipated games of 2026 (Part 2)

Every year, the video game industry generates a wave of enthusiasm fueled by ambitious announcements, enigmatic trailers, and promises of ever-expanding worlds. However, behind the busy release schedules lie highly anticipated titles that are eagerly awaited, with no official launch date in sight. In this article, we take a look at the most anticipated games of 2026, most of which have not yet revealed their release dates, but continue to set gamers’ hearts racing.

Let’s start our selection with a title that has been eagerly awaited since the rumors were confirmed. After a colorful fifth installment that is still as popular as ever years after its release, fans of beautiful cars will be able to get their hands on Forza Horizon 6 on May 19, 2026 (and May 15 for early access). This time around, the game will feature the magnificent roads of Japan.

For those who enjoy intense combat, don’t forget the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive currently being developed by FromSoftware, called The Duskbloods. To date, we still have very little information about the project, other than that it is likely to be a multiplayer PvPvE game. Onimusha: Way of the Sword has also been the subject of much discussion. Capcom will be back again this year with a brand new installment in the franchise. Here, we explore the historic Japanese capital of Kyoto during the Edo period, distorted by a sinister miasma.

Insomniac Games is far from done with superheroes, as Marvel’s Wolverine will get its own game in 2026. This single-player action game will feature breathtaking staging and bloody combat, and we can already expect a high-quality production based on the studio’s recent games.

Let’s head off to a much more colorful universe with Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. This time, Yoshi and his friends come across a talking book. The pages of this book contain information about strange creatures, and they set off on an adventure to make all kinds of discoveries. Staying with the theme of exploration, a well-known franchise is making a comeback with a magnificent reinterpretation of the game that defined the genre in 1996: Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Lara Croft will be back on our screens for new thrilling adventures. Another remake worth mentioning is Halo: Campaign Evolved. The campaign will be reconstructed in its entirety and will be playable solo or cooperatively.

Other titles are also worth mentioning, such as Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave and The Blood of Dawnwalker, which is set in 14th-century Europe. The latter is a game steeped in a vampire universe, created by a studio co-founded by former members of CD Projekt RED. Remedy Studios is also making a comeback with Control Resonant, which will plunge us into Manhattan, overrun by supernatural forces. Finally, even though racing games were well represented last year, Star Wars: Galactic Racer is also giving it a shot. Announced at the Game Awards a few weeks ago, the game will teleport us to underground racetracks where drivers compete in chaotic races.

Although no specific release dates have been announced, these games are still the center of attention. They embody the hope of new and memorable experiences that push the creative and technical boundaries of video games. While the wait may sometimes seem long, it also helps to fuel curiosity and excitement around these projects, which are still shrouded in mystery. Which of these games are already on your wish list?
