Is the virtual reality market slowly disappearing? This week, Meta significantly scaled back its operations in this area by closing two of its studios. Now, a third team has just undergone layoffs.
Acquired by Meta in 2022, Camouflaj is responsible for games such as Iron Man VR and Batman: Arkham Shadow. While the studio remains open, many people have been laid off and several projects canceled. The employees who have kept their jobs are solely focused on “the new user experience for future hardware”. In other words, no more games are in production.
Sanzaru Games, which closed earlier this week, was apparently working on a sequel to Batman: Arkham Shadow.
