Back in January 2020, Ninja Theory announced a mysterious project called Project: MARA, something of an experimental game that explored new forms of storytelling.
“Project: MARA will offer a realistic and grounded representation of mental terror, based on authentic testimonials and extensive research, with the goal of recreating the horrors of the mind with the greatest possible accuracy and realism.”
While it sounded quite interesting on paper, it seems that the title will not see the light of day. During the Xbox Two podcast, Windows Central journalist Jez Corden stated that Project: MARA is not in development at Ninja Theory. It was simply a concept that is no longer on the agenda.
Corden clarified that Hellblade 3 is the British studio’s next game. This installment is expected to be more interactive than the first two in order to attract a wider audience.
