Steam 87% Rated New Free Game Is One for Cyberpunk 2077 Players

Cyberpunk 2077 and Hades fans might want to check out this Steam game for free, which has an 87% positive rating.

One of my favourite movies of all time is Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, released in 1982, starring Harrison Ford, Sean Young, and the late, great Rutger Hauer.

Blade Runner is set in a dystopian Los Angeles, where synthetic, aka replicants, are the everyday norm, living the life of a human. Well, for the most part. Oddly, Blade Runner is set in the year 2019, which was way ahead in the future at the time of production.

Thankfully, we don’t live in that world, but with the rise of robot AI, that form of dystopia might not be too far off. Either that, or Skynet will destroy our world. Hey, look at me bringing all the joy into your life!

For years, I had waited for a game that gave me those Blade Runner vibes and in the mid-90s (ish), I got that with the real-time strategy, Syndicate Wars. Man, I miss that series. Followed by the RPG, Deus Ex in 2000.

Speaking of Deus Ex, this classic sci-fi RPG is getting a remaster, but the game has been so poorly received that refunds are already being issued before its release.

However, perhaps no game has captured the essence of Blade Runner quite like CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077.

Sure, the sci-fi RPG from The Witcher studio was released in a bit of a mess, but I feel that after a series of content updates and the addition of new features, it’s amongst the best games of its genre.

That being said, it’s been over four years since the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2020, and as much as we love that game, it might be fair to be on the lookout for something new.

Cyberpunk 2077 Fans, Check out This Free Steam Game!

If that sounds like you, then you might want to check out this new free-to-play action adventure, Beat of Rebellion, developed by CyberRaccoons and published by AIV.

Beat of Rebellion gives me vibes of not only Cyberpunk 2077, but also the indie sensations, Hades and Crypt of the NecroDancer.

“Be the voice out of the choir! Beat of Rebellion is an isometric rhythm-based Hack & Slash. Follow the Beat, create your own Melodies and unleash devastating combos to fight against a totalitarian regime in a cyberpunk city,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

Released on 20 December 2025, taken from 10 user reviews at the time of writing, Beat of Rebellion has a “Positive” rating on Steam, with only one negative. This works out to be an impressive 87% in the plus.

Being a free-to-play game, Beat of Rebellion does have microtransactions, but judging by what the community has said, there’s plenty of fun to be had without spending a penny.
