One of the most impressive Stardew Valley mods ever made just got a huge new update, which has added fully voiced, non-AI-generated audio for all of the romanceable characters in the game.
I can’t think of many ways you could conceivably improve Stardew Valley at this point. ConcernedApe has added basically every fan-requested feature to this game over the past ten years, and he’s still cooking up new free content for it. What more could we possibly ask for?
Well, there is one thing I always thought would be neat, but it’s kind of a big ask…
Sure, having voice lines for the characters would be incredible, but that’s so much effort to do retroactively. Besides, we’re probably talking about tens of thousands of lines of dialogue here, so there’s no way that someone would go to all that effort– especially for free.
Thanks to the efforts of one very talented modder (and a bunch of very talented voice actors), the fully-voiced Stardew Valley of our dreams is now one step closer, because the latest update for the Stardew Voices mod has just added voice lines for all of the romanceable characters in the game.

Stardew Voices was conceived by software engineer and voice actor Shannon Hobby, also known as Shpoobie on Nexus Mods, all the way back in 2024.
Back when the mod first released, the only voiced character was Abigail (who Hobby voiced themselves).
Now, following its most recent update today, Stardew Voices features fully voiced dialogue for all twelve of the romanceable characters in the game. To reiterate, that’s every single line that these characters have. I can’t even begin to imagine how many lines that equates to.
If you want to hear some of this voice acting in action, I suggest taking a look at an Instagram post from the user millkberry, which features a look (a hear?) at what Harvey, Emily, Mara, Sebastian and Haley all sound like.
I think the most baffling thing about this is that… it would be impressive regardless, but why are all these voice actors SO spot on? The actor who voices Harvey could not be any closer to what that guy already sounds like in my head.
The project is completely free to download, and Shpoobie has stated that it will be completed regardless of whether or not people donate, but they do have both a Ko-Fi and a PayPal page if you want to throw them some money (which I very much think they deserve).
