Seven Free Steam Games to Play This Weekend

Seven Free Steam Games to Play This Weekend

Happy New Year folks. With the new year comes new Steam freebies, and below you’ll find seven that we’ve cherry-picked to kick-off your 2026.

First up we have a bit of a weird one, it’s called 外星反骨仔, which apparently translates to Alien Traitor. Players will control Agent Vanø as they infiltrate an alien colony and sabotage it from the inside. Sounds like a singleplayer Among Us game.

Second is Void Harvest, which feels like a spiritual successor to the classic game, Asteroids. Piloting your ship from a top-down perspective you’ll mine various ores from floating asteroids, defending your cargo at the same time.

We have another weird one for your third game on this list, it’s called Diluted. Its description will be better at explaining, as it says Diluted is a “3/4ths puzzle adventure-action game where nightmares seep into reality.” In the game you play as a kid called Archie as he explores a creepy orphanage and its surrounding forest.

Next we have The Myth Requiem, an RPG that’ll actually play itself if you can’t be bothered.

In this game you’ll lead your heroes on a quest to slay the beastly Hydra. Like any RPG you’ll collect plenty of loot along the way and fight a wide variety of creatures, using the game’s auto-battle mechanic if you wish.

If you exited 2025 with a newfound love and appreciation for roguelikes this next one is for you.

Talisman is a roguelike puzzle game with over 100 levels. Like games such as Balatro this one is all about the multipliers, with better multipliers the more you match the in-game suits. Talisman isn’t actually out yet so the demo is the only way you’ll get to play it for the time being.

We’re almost there but next is Garden Ink, which sees its official launch on Steam today. In the build-up to the game’s release you can try out the demo, and dive into a world of ink where you paint and explore your surroundings. The game’s description says you’ll be “merging decorations and coloring tools to help you customize your world.” There’s not much story to this one, just vibes.

Last but not least we have Nightpyre, which asks players to “dive into the Eternal Night and break through by using your magic synergies.” This one is a roguelite, and like Garden Ink the full game launches later today.

And there you have it, seven Steam freebies to kick-off 2026, enjoy.
