The reports of the Ubisoft hack have been “blown way out of proportion”

In recent hours, there have been numerous reports of a major hack of Ubisoft . The Rainbow Six Siege servers going down has prompted certain hacker groups to claim things that did not actually happen.

The website Insider Gaming managed to contact several sources close to these groups. They mentioned that these hacks were “blown way out of proportion” and that these individuals “just wanted clout”.

There is currently no evidence of the theft of the famous 900 GB of data. Reports even mentioned the acquisition of Ubisoft’s source code, internal tools, and confidential documents related to the company’s projects.

In addition, the developers of Rainbow Six Siege have restored the servers. These are now open to all players. Only the marketplace will remain closed until further notice. The investigation is continuing in order to understand what may have happened.
