Over time, Star Citizen players have had to learn to be very patient. This is particularly true of Squadron 42, the single-player campaign announced several years ago. It was originally scheduled for release in 2020.
Chris Roberts, founder of Cloud Imperium Games, has been reassuring about the project’s progress. According to him, Squadron 42 will indeed be released in 2026. He also specified that the marketing campaign will be relatively short. In any case, all chapters of the game are currently playable internally.
The solo portion is estimated to last more than 40 hours. Players will encounter several big names from the film industry, including Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Andy Serkis, Gillian Anderson and Mark Strong.
