Hogwarts Legacy has arguably never looked better than this stunning new-gen remaster on PC and is a delight for Harry Potter fans.
When Hogwarts Legacy was released in early 2023, despite being snubbed at some major video game award ceremonies, the action RPG developed by Avalanche Software was one of the best games of that year. As reflected by its 84 Metacritic score, not to mention it was 2023’s best-selling game.
“Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world. Your legacy is what you make of it. Live the Unwritten.
“Embark on a journey through familiar and new locations as you explore and discover magical beasts, customise your character and craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents and become the wizard you want to be.”
Time has certainly flown by following the original launch of Hogwarts Legacy; in fact, it’s been nearly three years, if you could believe it. It’s why fans are desperate to know if or when Hogwarts Legacy 2 will grace us with its presence.
Thankfully, recent reports have suggested that we will get Hogwarts Legacy 2 at some point; we just might have to be a little patient. When it happens, it may be inspired by the upcoming HBO reboot with a modern setting, rather than being in the late 1800s.
Hogwarts Legacy is Stunning on All Platforms
Inspired by Harry Potter’s Wizarding World, it doesn’t matter what your platform of choice is; Hogwarts Legacy is a fantastic game both in terms of gameplay, story and visuals. Even on the scaled-down Nintendo Switch version, it’s still a blast.
That being said, if you’re able to play Hogwarts Legacy on a beast of a gaming PC, then your experience could be next-level. As showcased on the YouTube channel, Digital Dreams.
Powered by an NVIDIA RTX 5090 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D, as well as a series of mods, Hogwarts Legacy looks sublime, especially with its lush ray tracing and 8K resolution. Could this be a hint as to what Hogwarts Legacy 2 might look like? Only time will tell.
“The first 20 seconds feature the best-looking floor I’ve ever seen in a game,” said keithv2974 in the comments section of the video.
“This looks incredible, dude,” exclaimed grannysmith7326.
However, some in the thread have mentioned the stuttering framerate, so I guess the visual enhancement does come at an expense, and not just how much money a PC build like this would cost.
Hogwarts Legacy is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. We’ll keep you updated when Hogwarts Legacy 2 is announced.
