On social media, several independent developers have decided to showcase their games alongside the 2025 Game Awards. These short presentations are accompanied by a message stating that “we didn’t have a million dollars for a trailer at the Game Awards, so we’re posting it here for free.”
This is what Pixelated Milk, the studio behind SacriFire, has done. Expected in the first quarter of 2026 on PC, this title is an RPG inspired by 90s productions. It features dynamic combat with turn-based and real-time elements. The retro-style graphics combine pixel art and 3D rendering.
SacriFire aims to both respect and subvert the stereotypes of classic RPGs by surprising the player. The soundtrack is composed by Motoi Sakuraba.
