Fortnite Gamers Issued Warning, Could Miss Out on Free Gifts

Fortnite gamers have been issued a warning not to miss out on these gifts that are available to claim every day for the next couple of weeks or so

I think it’s fair to say that we’ve all heard of the free-to-play battle royale shooter that is Fortnite. If you’re reading this and somehow haven’t, what rock have you been living under?

Developed and published by Epic Games, Fortnite is pretty much the blueprint of how a free-to-play battle royale should be. For starters, it has a fun gameplay loop that keeps players engaged with its tense matches.

For better or worse, its visuals are eye-catching and memorable.

We can identify it as Fortnite by glancing at a screenshot. Its battle passes are reasonably generous for the price, and it even has a wealth of free cosmetic content that players can easily claim.

Speaking of freebies, over the next couple of weeks, you can claim loads of festive cosmetic Fortnite content, perfect for Christmas, courtesy of the annual ‘Winterfest’.

Tons of Fortnite Festive Freebies!

In total, there are 14 festive cosmetic items that you can claim from now until 5 January 2026. You claim the freebies simply by logging into Fortnite and opening the gifts (in any order).

At the time of writing, the latest ‘Winterfest’ event ends in 17 days, so that means you can miss three days of not logging in.

We’ve all been there before, missing out on our logging-in streak rewards because we’ve forgotten or had something more important to do. So at least there are a few days we can spare.

Perhaps a couple of the standout freebies are the hamster skin, which oddly has jiggle physics (seriously), the penguin backbling looks cute, and the fire backbling looks cosy.

Once you’ve logged into Fortnite seven times, you’ll be rewarded with the ‘Glacial Dummy Outfit’, and after 13 days, the ‘Cheeks (hamster) Outfit’ will be unlocked.

It seems the reception on social media has been mostly positive with the latest free content offerings.

“Daily presents are simple, and they work. Keeps people checking in without pressure. Retention done right,” said shzhv13.

“Defo gonna have to get on this holiday!” declared ELMiKiNGBiNG.

“Winterfest = dopamine calendar,” replied MadVincent666.

However, some Fortnite players are disappointed that the ‘Winterfest’ does not include any emotes, which is somewhat surprising.

“No Emote this year?” exclaimed fl4reeZ.

Fortnite is out on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
