Larian Studios plans to release its upcoming game Divinity in early access, as it was tge case with Divinity: Original Sin, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and Baldurβs Gate 3. The studio believes that this format allows the community to participate in development and significantly improve the game before its final release.
According to CEO Swen Vincke, early access requires more work but results in a higher-quality game thanks to player feedback. Larian considers this model a “blueprint” for its development process, which helps maintain player interest.
Vincke suggested that a three- to four-year development cycle would be healthier than the six years it took to develop Baldur’s Gate 3. As of now, Divinity has no specific release date yet.
