PS5 players have been surprised with the announcement of a new Western-themed open world game that Red Dead Redemption and Gun fans should keep an eye on. Westlanders is described as a “solo and co-op survival journey in a far West setting.”

Westlanders will feature crafting, building, and management elements. A Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign is planned for early 2026, but a release window has yet to be announced. The game will also release on Xbox and PC, with the latter getting early access.
“Imagine the rich, atmospheric Wild West open reminiscent of The Revenant, where you craft your own story,” reads an official description. “Now, layer in the base-building and crafting of Medieval Dynasty, the unforgiving wilderness of ARK: Survival Evolved, and the sandbox freedom of Palworld.” Sounds pretty ambitious.
In a press release, developer The Breach Studios said that they want to make a game that “evolves thanks to those who play it.” “Kickstarter and Early Access will allow us to work hand in hand with motivated, invested, and passionate players,” the developer added. “We will carefully listen to this community, which shares our love of rich and satisfying game mechanics, to tune and perfect the experience before the console release.”
