Assassin’s Creed Shadows Patched, Ubisoft Fixes in Full Plus Download Size

For those still enjoying the latest Assassin’s Creed entry, a big update is on the way which aims to fix a variety of issues as well as offering some exciting new content.

Released back in March, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the 14th major instalment in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Set during 16th-century Japan in the Sengoku period, it follows the story of Fujibayashi Naoe, a female shinobi who must team up with African samurai Yasuke following the murder of her father.

Met with generally favourable reviews, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already welcomed a DLC titled Claws of Awaji but now it seems as though Ubisoft aims to offer players even more content courtesy of its 1.1.7 update.

“Hello everyone, Tomorrow, December 16th, we will be releasing Title Update 1.1.7 for Assassin’s Creed Shadows @ 14:00 UTC / 9:00 AM EST / 6:00 AM PST on most platforms,” the official blog post reads.

“The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the update will be released on December 17th @ 14:00 UTC / 9:00 AM EST / 6:00 AM PST on most platforms.”

Coming in at 16.64GB on the Xbox Series X/S, the update is quite a hefty one but after reading some of the patch highlights, it is clear to see why.

In the 1.1.7 update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft aims to bring new finisher moves to combat for both Naoe and Yasuke so that their fighting styles can have more flair and brutality.

Not only that but it seems as though a new Rift has appeared within the Animus and so players will have to uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and traverse across the digital plains in order to help The Guide.

A new Project is also on the way via the Animus Hub. Titled ‘Defiance’, players will be able to embark on the challenge in order to unlock a new Bo staff, robe and hood, and trinket.

Vault access is now available through the Animus menu and new resources are available in the Exchange and so Gold, Mastery, and Knowledge points can be purchased repeatedly with keys.

Other than that, the blog post details all of the major and minor patch notes detailing bug fixes and improvements across all platforms.

There are adjustments to UI, visuals and graphics, gameplay, online store, and more.

So if you are still enjoying Assassin’s Creed Shadows or want to pick it up over the Christmas period, now is the perfect time to do so with both old and new content available to enjoy.
