Combining the RPG elements of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with the dark fantasy lore of Dark Souls, this upcoming first-person RPG is guaranteed to catch the eye of new and veteran gamers alike.
Developed by Freshly Baked Games, Queenâs Domain aims to blend a retro-fantasy action RPG experience with brutal combat and traversal-focused exploration to bring players an epic new entry to the genre.
As you embark on a quest to find your father who disappeared on the mysterious Isle of Neasied, you will soon discover that sinister forces gather, secrets lurk beneath every surface and most importantly, an ancient sleeping Queen begins to stir.
Inspired by FromSoftwareâs Dark Souls-inspired spin-off Kingâs Field, Queenâs Domain will bring us the punishing yet rewarding combat of a soulslike with the stunning environments that we have seen in titles such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
As a result, players can expect a title to rival them both.
With over 50 melee weapons to equip and upgrade, combat will be fast-paced and up close but if you prefer to play in the shadows, you can choose from 20 types of throwable weapons which will give you more than enough of an arsenal to beat the gameâs 100+ enemies, mini-bosses, and bosses.
Not only that but with a world full of secrets and areas to explore, Queenâs Domain will see you utilise the Legendary Holy Sword Endu to jump and glide between platforms and so reaching those hard-to-reach areas will be no problem at all.

The Familiar Stamina Bar Returns
Dark Souls fans will recognise the familiar stamina bar that will play a large part in the Queenâs Domain combat as charging up strong attacks, using your weaponâs special moves, and throwing weapons will all use up that precious stamina which can make or break a fight.
However, earning XP will see you level up and so if a boss is too difficult, you can always come back when you are feeling a lot stronger.
With a lovingly crafted retro-fantasy aesthetic, dozens of hours worth of exploring and adventuring to be had, and more, Queenâs Gambit is already shaping up to be an incredible entry to the RPG genre.
Although it does not yet have a full release date, a free demo is now available to try courtesy of Steam so if you are a PC gamer, it is time to check out this Dark Souls/Skyrim-inspired title for yourself.
Just be sure not to wake the sleeping QueenâŚ

This sounds like an exciting blend of two iconic gaming styles! The combination of Skyrim’s vast world and Dark Souls’ challenging gameplay could create a unique and engaging experience. Looking forward to seeing how it develops!
Absolutely, itâs fascinating how the open-world exploration of Skyrim can mesh with the challenging combat mechanics of Dark Souls. This mix could really enhance player strategy, making exploration not just about finding new areas, but also about preparing for tougher encounters. Itâll be interesting to see how the lore influences gameplay as well!
