As a heavy favorite going into The Game Awards, it’s perhaps no surprise that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 ended up winning Game of the Year. But that’s not all. Nominated in a whopping 12 categories, it won in nine.
Aside from Game of the Year, these include Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Performance (Jennifer English as Maelle), Best Role-Playing Game, Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game. The only categories it didn’t win were Best Audio Design, which went to Battlefield 6.
Other notable winners include Hollow Knight: Silksong, which received Best Action/Adventure, and Hades 2, which won Best Action Game. Baldur’s Gate 3 won Best Community Support, and No Man’s Sky bagged Best Ongoing Game. To no one’s surprise, Grand Theft Auto 6 won the Most Anticipated Game Award.
As for Clair Obscur, there’s no better time than now to jump in. It’s currently discounted, and Sandfall released a massive new update that expanded the post-game. Head here for more details.
