Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ‘Preparing New Reveal’

The long-awaited remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic might be set for a new reveal, claims a recent rumour.

Developed by BioWare, when Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was originally released in 2003, it instantly became one of my favourite video games of all time.

It’s a story with branching paths that let you follow the light or dark side of the force, has fun turn-based combat, has an amazing cast of characters, and its Star Wars vibes won me over in an instant.

So, just like millions of other Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic fans at the time, I was over the moon that a remake was announced by PlayStation in 2021.

Sadly, however, since that reveal, we’ve not had any official update. No release date or gameplay trailer. All we’ve heard so far are rumours that the remake has been passed around by developers and may even have been cancelled.

Could We Finally Get News On Knights Of The Old Republic?

I recently spoke to video game acting legend Jennifer Hale, who was set to reprise her role as Bastila Shan, but not even the great lady herself had an update to provide.

Yet, last week, we were given a small glimmer of hope that an update on the Knights of the Old Republic remake was on the way at The Game Awards later this week.

Well, that or Star Wars Jedi 3.

In an update to that most recent rumour, the Twitter user Kurakasis has blatantly claimed that an announcement will be made at The Game Awards that ends with “The Old Republic”.

Now, assuming this isn’t a troll for social engagement (which is a possibility), this could be one of three things.

It could be the long-awaited remake, something related to the PC MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic or as an absolute long shot, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3.

As much as I would love for this to be a positive update on the remake, I also wouldn’t mind that Star Wars: The Old Republic is announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. After all, this is something that fans have also longed for.

That being said, all speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.

Hopefully, we’ll know either way later this week. We’ll update you if we learn more about this developing story.
