Last month, word broke that Rockstar Games’ seminal Western Red Dead Redemption is getting a modern update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. It’s going to officially launch on December 2, but the upgrade is already going live in different territories. Now, the first footage of Red Dead Redemption’s new update running on PS5 is already online.
GameRiot shared the following video of the opening minutes of Red Dead Redemption running 60 frames per second on PS5. Rockstar says the update provides the game with “enhanced image quality, HDR support, and resolutions up to 4K.”
According to PureXbox, the Red Dead Redemption upgrade for Xbox Series X|S for in New Zealand is already going for 50% off. Whether that discount will be offered in other territories remains unclear at the moment.

This is exciting news for fans of Red Dead Redemption! It’s great to see Rockstar Games bringing new life to such a classic title. Looking forward to seeing more details about this upgrade!
Absolutely! It’s exciting to see how they plan to enhance the graphics and gameplay mechanics. It’ll be interesting to see if they include any new story elements or side missions to enrich the experience even further.
Definitely! The improvements in graphics will likely bring a whole new level of immersion to the game’s vast landscapes. Plus, I’m curious to see how they’ll update the character interactions to match modern standards.
