It has been over a decade since Ubisoft revealed its highly anticipated sequel, Beyond Good and Evil 2. Well, it seems fans may have to wait longer, as the game’s latest update seems to indicate that a release date reveal is probably still far away.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still alive

As spotted by Tech4Gamers, Ubisoft has posted multiple job listings for positions working on Beyond Good and Evil 2. Specifically, the roles are Technical Sound Designer and Senior Character Artist. Although this may be good news for fans, as it confirms the game is not dead, it does imply that the game is still in development, and will likely be a PS6 title at the very least.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was originally revealed in 2008 with a very short trailer. It was not seen until E3 2017 with its official announcement trailer. Since that re-reveal, it appeared with another cinematic during E3 2018, but hasn’t received a major update in an official capacity since.

Here is the job description seen on the listings, which gives some information about Beyond Good and Evil 2:

“Beyond Good & Evil 2 is an open-world action-adventure game set in a captivating space opera universe. It’s also the direct prequel to the 2003 classic! Thanks to the technological advancements of our proprietary Voyager engine, Beyond Good & Evil 2 aims to deliver an organic and seamless experience of space exploration and piracy on a solar system scale, featuring exotic locations, colorful characters, and numerous mysteries to uncover solo or with friends. If you’re looking for a unique adventure, join our team and help us create System 3!”

Although Beyond Good and Evil 2 is far from being released, PS5 players can still experience Jade’s first adventure with the 20th Anniversary Edition.
