This upcoming survival horror FPS just got a brand new demo for you to sink your teeth into on Steam, and it looks like it’s taking its influences from all the right places.
There is nothing I love more than playing a freaky horror game set in an abandoned location that’s overrun by grotesque monsters, which is probably why I consider the likes of Dead Space 2 and Resident Evil 4 to be some of my favourite games of all time.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many horror games out there that scratch the same itch for me… well, in the AAA-gaming space, that is.
Thankfully, indie devs exist, and they’ve been responsible for some of the best horror games of the last decade. I’m not sure if today’s offering will quite match up to those standards, but it appears to be taking the right steps in the right direction.
Where Is Lena? is an upcoming psychological horror first person shooter from developer Ufuk Su and publisher Gray Wolves Games, set to drop on Steam at some point in 2026.
We won’t have to wait that long to get our hands on it though, as a new demo for the game just appeared on the Steam store that you can download right now.
As of writing, there’s no review consensus for this one, but all the reviews I could find were pretty positive. Here’s what folks are saying about the demo.
“Interesting demo. Short and tense, with the gameplay reminding me of Resident Evil: an evil lab, smart puzzles to find a code here and there and gory monsters. It’s all made by a solo dev which is even more impressive”, commented Steam user nineruk.
“I wasn’t expecting to get this hooked. The story grabbed me immediately. If you enjoy FPS horror with constant tension, dark environments, and combat that hits hard, this game is 100% worth playing”, writes Steam user edimax.
“The puzzles were surprisingly intense too — they really kept me thinking under pressure. I can’t wait to see where the story goes next!”
No exact word on when it will be coming out next year yet, but I think the demo looks pretty impressive in its current state (considering this is a solo dev we’re talking about).
Could be one to keep an eye on in the next few months, especially considering that we’re probably not getting Dead Space 4… well, ever.
