The likes of Super Mario, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, and Call of Duty will apparently endlessly release new entries, and they’ll probably sell like hot cakes each time to boot. The fact is, though, this isn’t something to take for granted. A lot of beloved gaming series have fallen by the wayside over the years, victims of studio closures and other calamities.
