Stardew Valley Free Fan Download Adds a Cosy Daily Treat

Stardew Valley fans will want to check out this free download that they can cosy up with right now.

One of the first games that comes to mind when I hear the term “indie darling” is Stardew Valley, a cosy farming sim that was originally released in 2016 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before being ported to many platforms over the years.

“You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?”

Originally developed by one person, Eric Barone, known by many as the studio ConcernedApe, Stardew Valley has evolved a lot over the years, whether it’s courtesy of the generous free content updates or via its ever-vibrant modding community.

Stardew Valley Modding Community Is Awesome!

One mod in particular that may be worth your attention is called ‘Daily Affirmations’, created by Huskyn1nja, and it’s available to download right now via Nexusmods.

It’s worth keeping in mind that this particular mod doesn’t change gameplay, improve visuals, performance, or even add new missions and areas.

So, what does this charming little mod do, I hear you ask?

Perhaps the best way I can describe this mod is that it’s like the equivalent of someone leaving you motivation notes on the fridge door or in a lunch box. Little messages that put a smile on your face. This mod is basically Stardew Valley’s version.

These cute little messages of motivation say things like “Small progress is still progress”, “You are capable of amazing things”, and “Today, I will be as effective as a watering can on a rainy day.”

In total, there are 80 cute messages of motivation that you can adjust to be as frequent or repeated as you want. It’s probably the Stardew Valley mod that you never knew you needed until now.

Unfortunately, as is the case with most mods, ‘Daily Affirmations’ is a PC exclusive. As for the rest of us, we can play Stardew Valley as intended on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and mobile devices.

Hopefully, with all the free content updates and mods, we should have enough Stardew Valley goodness until the next game from ConcernedApe arrives with Haunted Chocolatier, which, at the time of writing, does not have a release date.
