Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not get a second expansion

Last September, Assassin’s Creed Shadows received its first expansion, Claws of Awaji. It added over 10 hours of content and was even available as a free download for those who had pre-ordered the base game.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has no plans to offer a second DLC of this type. Simon Lemay-Comtois, who is the game’s assistant director, said that his team is currently designing post-launch content that will be rolled out through updates.

“We are still working on post-launch content and following up on it, but it is not a full-fledged DLC as a Season Pass would have been in previous years.

We are trying to readjust a bit for this second year. We can learn from the first year and apply those lessons to the second. The content we’ll be offering this year will probably be more sporadic, so not piecemeal as you said, but rather more substantial updates that will make the game a little more dynamic. I’m not announcing anything at the moment, but the strategy for the first year was to be quick and responsive, which translates into shorter and more frequent releases.

For this second year, we don’t have to deal with any emergencies. The important thing is to offer high-quality, concise, and substantial content that people will want to come back to and enjoy.”
