NVIDIA may decide to stop supplying GDDR memory to its partners

The RAM shortage could have another very damaging consequence in the tech sector. NVIDIA is reportedly considering stopping supplying GDDR chips to its partners due to tensions in this sector.

The American giant usually supplied GPU kits and the accompanying memory directly to its AIC partners, which in turn made it easier for smaller manufacturers to obtain essential components. However, according to the Golden Pig Upgrade website, NVIDIA has decided to change its strategy in order to conserve its stocks and ensure the availability of its future graphics cards.

Unfortunately, this means that AICs will have to source their own GDDR memory by negotiating directly with DRAM suppliers. Smaller companies could then be overlooked and fail to obtain the stocks they need to survive.

Of course, this is currently just a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.
