Nintendo announced in a press release that it has reached an agreement with Bandai Namco Studios to acquire shares in the Singapore-based studio.
By purchasing shares in Bandai Namco Studios Singapore, Nintendo aims to “strengthen its development structure.” Once the transaction is complete, the company will be renamed Nintendo Studios Singapore Pte. Ltd.
In the past, this soon-to-be former Bandai Namco subsidiary, created in 2013, has worked on licenses such as Splatoon. Nintendo plans to acquire 80% of the company’s shares on April 1, 2026, with the remaining ones being acquired at a later date.
