PS Portal players are using the handheld for couch co-op with a simple trick that we didnât think of before. Those with a PS Plus Premium membership can now turn every online co-op game into local co-op, thanks to direct cloud streaming, which just left beta.

As highlighted by Reddit user Tsasuki, a PS5 user can download a game on the console and let their co-op partner sign in with their PSN account to access the game. Then, the player with PS Plus Premium membership can cloud stream the same game on their PS Portal.
Yes, this means only one person needs a Premium membership, and a single copy of a game will do. This way, both players can partner up in virtually any multiplayer or online co-op game, but in the same vicinity â one with a Portal and the other with a DualSense controller in their hand.
Frankly, I didnât think of this before until I saw this Reddit post, and Iâll certainly be trying this out myself. The only issue I can think of is a potential lag for the user whoâs cloud streaming, but it shouldnât be a huge problem.
