Talk about getting caught red-handed! In a trailer promoting the new season of Delta Force, a RUST developer noticed some familiar elements.
Alistair McFarlane, Director of Operations at Facepunch Studios, shared a screenshot of the Delta Force trailer on social media. He recognized a block of C4 and electronic circuits from RUST that were created entirely in-house, and McFarlane provided proof of this on X. This is therefore a clear case of asset theft.
“Hey Delta Force, thank you for being huge Rust fans. Please remove our assets. If you wanted to collab, you should have reached out.”
A few hours later, McFarlane spoke again to say that the Delta Force team had contacted him to apologize. Thus, the matter is now settled.

It’s always surprising to see controversies like this in the gaming community. It definitely raises some interesting discussions about creativity and originality in game development. Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds!
