The Witcher 4 may have a feature that could help it potentially top the goliath that is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Over the years, we’ve been treated to some amazing RPGs such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, to name a few.
When we think of master crafters of the RPG genre, one of the first names that might come to mind is Bethesda, not only due to The Elder Scrolls series, but also the post-apocalyptic wastelands of Fallout.
However, another name that deserves to be mentioned alongside Bethesda is Square Enix (Final Fantasy), and the topic of today’s discussion, CD Projekt RED, responsible for The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077.
Arguably, the best game from CDPR is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which was originally released in 2015 before getting an impressive Nintendo Switch port and its free new-gen remaster on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Earlier this year, we finally got to see The Witcher 4 in action, powered by Unreal Engine 5, and boy, was it a sight to behold. Seeing Ciri exploring the snippet of its world we got to see, interacting with her horse and NPCs was awesome.
What’s more, to make The Witcher 4 gameplay presentation even more impressive, is that the demo was running on a base PlayStation 5 console. Not a PC or PS5 Pro, but a bog standard PlayStation 5.
So, just imagine how good The Witcher 4 should look on a beast of a PC. That being said, if the woeful launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has taught me anything, it is to try and numb expectations until we get to play the game.

Ciri is the star of The Witcher 4!
In The Witcher 4, Ciri will be the main playable character and not Geralt of Rivia. Of course, another playable character could be introduced at some point, such as Yennifer and/or Triss, but we’ll just have to wait and see, for now.
With that in mind, gamers on Reddit have been discussing the prospect of playing as Ciri and what it could mean for The Witcher 4.
“Do you have any hot takes for the next game?” asked iambored348. “My hot take is that the next game should make Geralt and Yennifer’s romance canon, as it is canon in the books.”
“My hot take is that The Witcher 4 can easily be better than The Witcher 3. There really is so much more you can do with Ciri than Geralt,” replied Ok-Instance-7502.
“Playing as Ciri this time rather than Geralt makes me so much more excited,” said paintedskie, with raylalayla adding, “I love Geralt, but Ciri is my G.O.A.T.”
“My hot take is, I can’t wait to play as Ciri,” declared MavRayne.
At the time of writing, The Witcher 4 does not have a release date, but it might be safe to assume that its launch is a couple of years away, if we’re lucky.
