Stardew Valley Meets Animal Crossing in Charming New Cosy RPG, Free to Try

If you’re a fan of cosy games such as Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, then you’ll want to check out this new RPG that you can play for free.

When it comes to cosy games, it doesn’t get much more so than the likes of Stardew Valley and the Animal Crossing series, and if you love both, then this new offering might be your cup of tea.

The Animal Crossing series is one of Nintendo’s most popular properties, ever since it was first released on the GameCube all the way back in 2001.

Since that time, it’s had tons of sequels and some spin-offs in every console generation since.

Perhaps the most popular of the Animal Crossing games is New Horizons, which had a perfect release during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During a time when most were forced into long periods of isolation, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was a perfect game for some, not only to take their minds off worldly woes, but also to interact with other players across the world and explore their digitised tropical islands.

As for Stardew Valley, as soon as this indie darling arrived in 2016, it won the hearts of fans across the world. Perhaps what’s more impressive about this title, other than being a fantastic game, is that it was developed by a single person, Eric Barone, collectively known as ConcernedApe.

Over the years, Stardew Valley has been ported to just about every platform imaginable, with players never getting enough of creating an efficient farm, embarking on charming quests and interacting with its endlessly delightful NPCs.

Stardew Valley fans will love this

So when a new game comes along that can be described as Stardew Valley meets Animal Crossing, it will pique our interest by offering buckets of cosy goodness.

The game in question is called Everdream Village, developed by Mooneaters and published by Untold Tales.

“Build your ideal, cosy farm in a living village. Form bonds with fellow villagers to lend a hand as you grow crops, care for animals, and craft a corner of paradise,” reads the synopsis of Everdream Village. “Sail across enchanted islands to discover new resources and adventures along the way.”

Everdream Village might not be out until next month, but you’ll be pleased to know that you can download its free playable demo right now.

What’s more, your progress will carry over into the full game, should you decide to make the purchase.

Everdream Village will be released on 12 December 2025.
