Stardew Valley Fan Expansion Adds Plenty of New Skills And Items

Ah, y’know, I think I’ve played through Stardew Valley enough times now.

That’s right folks, this old farmhand thinks it might finally be time to hang up these dusty overalls and move on to something new.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve perfected this little crop of land, gotten married, and made my grandpa’s ghostly spirit happy.

I think I’ve truly experienced everything there is to do in Stardew Valley. Every Community Centre bundle fulfilled a dozen times over, every fish caught, every heart event viewed– there’s nothing more for me to see here… is what I would say if mods didn’t exist.

Sorry, I got a bit too into that farmer roleplay there. My point is, sure, like me, you might have seen everything there is to see in vanilla Stardew Valley, but have you branched out in the textile arts lifestyle yet?

Of course not, because this mod is barely a week old (and yet, it’s already receiving a boatload of unanimous praise over on Nexus Mods).

Cloths and Colors – Sewing Skill Expansion is a brand new mod from author zombifier that does exactly what it says on the tin; it lets you build a massive, ungoverned textile empire.

There are dozens of new materials to choose from, heaps of different clothing types to produce, new crops to grow, an entirely new Sewing skill tree, and even over a whopping 10,000 unique colour combinations to choose from.

Emily will even lend you a hand in the Cloths and Colors mod to help ease you into the textile crafting lifestyle, Zombifier/ConcernedApe

I am not exaggerating when I say this legitimately might be the single most impressive Stardew Valley mod I’ve ever seen– but don’t take my word for it, because here’s what the folks in the comments are saying.

“This is the mod my little fiber artist heart has yearned for”, commented Nexus Mods user narrativeficiton.

“It’s better than the dreamed-of mod I had been working myself up to making, and I have to say, making the cloth function like wine or preserves was a stroke of brilliance. You are my hero.”

“This mod looks so cool! The mods that you added compatibility with are some of my absolute must have mods too so I’m definitely downloading this”, replied user ahnsoli96.

“This looks absolutely incredible???? I’ve been thinking about starting a new save and this is going to push me over – cannot WAIT to try it out, it looks fantastic!!” commented user wolfseas.

Ugh, fine. I’ll start another playthrough.

Ah, who am I kidding? I was gonna do that anyway. But this time I can do it dripped out in my very own hand-sewn fluffy woollen jumper!
